Make Your Own Instant Kava Extract

Instant Kava has many applications as an additive to other culinary creations like kava chocolate, kava ice cream, and kava smoothies to name a few. We created a simple way for you to make your own instant kava extract at home with the kava root powder of your choice.

What you'll need: 

Instant Kava Extract Instructions: 

Aluball kava maker
1) Fill two AluBall Brewing Balls with 1-2 Tbsp of Kava root powder each.

2) Fill AluBottle with 6oz of warm water

3) Shake AluBotttle with AluBalls and water for 30 seconds to a minute.

4) Remove AluShell cap and pour freshly brewed kava into shell. 

5) Assemble Aeropress with x2 paper filters inserted

6) Mount Aero press on top of AluBottle and pour brewed kava into aeropress 

Instant kava
7) Plunge Aeropress to remove water from brewed Kava (Hardest Part: Give Aeropress a shake in between pulses to loosen any clogging)

Instant Kava Kavafied

8) Remove Aeropress filter cap and pop plunger completely through 

Kava drying
9) Scrape off instant kava extract and use as additive to your kava chocolate recipe, etc. 
10) (Optional) Spread paste on a sheet of aluminum foil to dry instant kava out into a powdered form to be used later.

Have you tried the reusable metal mesh screen filters (ultra or premium) for the aeropress to make kava extract? How do they compare to the paper filter?

I like to dry that stuff into flakes. Stick a dry chunk under your tongue and let it dissolve. The effects only last from 2 – 10 minutes but it is very pleasant. That powder goes well in all kinds of drinks, too. With orange juice for breakfast, or with milk and chocolate and or coffee for an afternoon treat.
